Selecting Which Photos to View
Every day I find someone to take a photo of me, I take a photo, and my wife Cindy takes a photo. Occasionally there is a lapse and one or more of the 3 photos aren't taken. The project started September 14, 2010, with the intention of having one picture of me taken by someone else every day. On December 1st I decided to include photos by myself and Cindy as well. So there should be 3 photos taken every day, and this page is designed to let you see some or all of them, in an order determined by making selections above. If you're impatient, you can press the "Start Viewing" button, and go through the photos one by one, in the order they were taken, from the beginning. Or you can press the "Start Most Recent" button, and start with the most recent photo. Or you can press the "Start Random" button, and see the photos in random order. You can select a starting date in the top row (always start with the year, and then the month because you will not be able to select dates before September 14, 2010, or after the date of the most recent photograph). You can also choose a frequency (if you're impatient with the whole day by day thing). If you choose "Every Day" as your frequency, you can also select which days of the week you want to see. With any other frequency this option is disabled. You can also add keywords to limit which photographs will be shown from the dates you have chosen. At this time the keywords you choose must be words of at least 4 letters. Uppercase and Lowercase are ignored. A peculiarty of the database ignores common words, and they will thus be ignored. This is frustrating if you want to search for my nephew Will, because the database ignores will (and Will and WIlL, etc). The words you enter must be separated by spaces with NO PUNCTUATION (PERIOD). The keywords you enter will match any photograph with any of the keywords for the dates you have chosen. Thus if you enter 'skiing jeff' you will get photographs with me, or photographs with skiing, or both. You won't get just photos of me skiing. It's quite possible using keywords that no photos will match the words you enter, and you will get a red box telling you so. Just press the Exit button and try something different. Once you have made your selections, press the "Start Viewing" button to get started. The "Earlier" and "Later" buttons move you backward or forward in time. If you reach the end you are taken back to the beginning and vice versa. To exit and return to this screen, press the "Exit" button. If you prefer using the keyboard you can use the right and left arrow keys to go forward and backwards, and the end key to exit. Finally if you have viewed all the photos that match your search criteria, a red box will appear telling you that this has occured. You can either Exit, or go in the opposite direction (with the
buttons) to review the photos that do match your criteria. If no photos match you won't be able to review any photos. Relax and click on Exit.
No more photos to show from your selection.
You can use the Earlier or Later buttons to review photos
you have looked at, or just press Exit.
